ABOUT US
The Guelph – Wellington Branch of the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario (ACO) was first formed in the 1960s, under the leadership of Gordon Couling, a well-respected historian, artist and community activist for heritage preservation. Our local branch currently has over 100 active members.
The local branch is focused on education and advocacy for local heritage architecture and landscapes.
The Guelph – Wellington branch of the ACO is part of the larger provincial organization — the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario – which was founded in 1933. To learn more visit the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario website ACO, visit the provincial ACO website.
Meetings
The Guelph-Wellington ACO Branch hosts at least six meeting per year and participate in community events such as Heritage Week (third week of February). Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month. Check out the Events page for upcoming meetings.
Membership
We'd love to have you join our local branch. Local branch members are also members of the provincial ACO and you will receive "ACORN", the Journal of the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario. You can enrol as a member in person at any of our regular meetings, or you can join online through the provincial office.
